Pingdom is an online free tool to test website speed. It’s a very simple tool to use. You are required to enter your site’s URL and click on Test now to start testing your website speed.

Webpagetest is another free online tool to test your website speed. Here, you can select the browser in which you want to carry on the test and the test location. To carry on the test enter your site URL and click on start test button.
After a while you will be displayed with the results.
Google PageSpeed Insights
You can also use Google’s free developer’s tool to analyze your website’s speed. After entering your site’s URL, you are required to click analyze.
You can also add free browser extension either to chrome or firefox to analyze website speed from your desktop instead of visiting any site.
Yslow is another free tool from Yahoo available as a browser extension to firefox, chrome, opera and safari. You can install and test website speed.
